My boyfriend and I did a 2-day trekking tour with Mé, who is a local Black H’mong tour guide. We walked between 10-15km each day through the Lao Chai and Ta Van villages. Mé tailored the trip exactly to what we wanted (more nature trails, away from most of the other tourists). Included in the tour was a bottle of water each day, lunch at a local restaurant (highly recommend trying the fried spring rolls – the rice paper was thinner than we’ve had before and they were amazing), and a taxi back to our hotel each day. She even gifted us some local crafts that she had made herself, which was such a special touch to end the trip.
It was amazing to do the tour with a local who shared so much about Vietnamese and especially Black H’mong culture. I don’t think you can get a more authentic experience, and also at such a fair price. I would definitely recommend using a local tour guide (especially Mé) instead of booking through a tour company, as the guides earn more and you get a much more genuine experience.
Great experience in Sapa! We visited in early August and had an amazing trip. Our local guide, Me, spoke very good English and was extremely knowledgeable about the area. The whole journey started and ended smoothly, with excellent communication from Me who constantly checked in on us to make sure everything was going well.
The tour itself was fantastic – from Fansipan to local village, the scenery was breathtaking. Trekking required some physical effort, but it was absolutely worth it for the stunning views. Since we traveled in summer, the weather was pleasant and enjoyable. Choosing the private tour was the best decision to maximize our days in Sapa, and the spacious 16-seater bus made traveling around very comfortable.
Thumbs up to the organisers! We truly enjoyed every moment and will surely recommend this tour to anyone heading to Sapa! ;)
We booked a 3-days 2-night trekking village tour. Ms. Mogo and Hien (the local tour guide) provided us with excellent services throughout the trip. They were punctual when picking us up from our hotel in Sapa, served us generous portions of delicious food, and were always very considerate. They stopped whenever we were tired and even made time whenever it was prayer time. Polite, well-mannered, and with excellent English, I truly could not have chosen a better team to hike with.
Ms. Mogo was also an outstanding coordinator. We kept in touch via email and WhatsApp, and she always responded quickly with clear information to all our questions. She even arranged complimentary transport from Lao Cai to Sapa and back just for the two of us – in a private van! That felt like pure luxury, and we are very grateful for her kind arrangements.
We booked a trip to Fansipan for two people a week ago and had a great time! The area was stunning — especially the flower gardens, which were beautifully maintained. The cable car ride was definitely a highlight, offering breathtaking views all the way up. The summit view was magical, even though it was covered in mist when we arrived. The food court also had some tasty options.
To make the most of our trip, we also joined a short trekking tour to nearby villages like Lao Chai and Ta Van. It was a wonderful way to experience local culture, meet ethnic communities, and enjoy the peaceful scenery of rice terraces and mountain paths.
