At the age of 30, she began teaching herself English by conversing with foreign tourists while selling hand-embroidered goods in Sapa town. Now, she can speak both English and French. Thanks to her hardworking nature and friendly, sincere demeanor, she has become a trusted local guide for many international travelers visiting Sapa.

Over 60 years old, petite yet energetic, she often walks 20–30 kilometers a day when hired to guide foreign tourists through Hầu Thào and nearby villages. Her whole family her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren are now involved in community-based tourism. In Hầu Thào, more and more H’mong people are becoming village tour guides. Beyond farming and handicrafts, tourism has become a significant source of income for the local H’mong.
